Nikhil Masters
I am a Visiting Fellow in Economics at the University of Essex. My research is in behavioural economics and applied microeconomics. I use a range of empirical methods, combining field and laboratory experiments with microeconometric techniques to study economic behaviour.
A central focus of my work is analysing behaviour in naturalistic settings that capture real-world decision making. My research includes emotions and economic decisions, competitive behaviour in dating markets, and the Behavioural Economics of Music (BEM), a new research programme addressing challenges in the music industry.
I am on the 2025/26 job market
